Good Enough

This outlet works just fine. It's not really heavy-duty, but the plastic seems good quality. Might be a bit brittle in really cold temperatures, I won't swing it around and whack it on the pavement just to find out. The metal part is thick enough to feel sturdy but there is nothing to keep it from bending out at the top if you were to yank on the cord real hard. The screw terminals work best for solid wire. I used stranded wire, so I crimped ferrules made from short pieces of copper tubing on the wire before inserting. The knockouts require a 3/4 strain relief or 1 inch if you knock out the big ring. All in all it is a nice package for making extension or adapter cords for your welder. Would I put 50 amps through this for years? Probably not. But for weekend use on a 30 amp circuit it will last me for a long time.
